Harmony Vision Care Social Media Strategy: CASE STUDY

Harmony Vision Care is an independent optometry practice on the Gold Coast led by owner and principal optometrist Paul Graham. The clinic is known for managing complex vision problems including binocular vision dysfunction, orthokeratology, keratoconus, concussion-related vision issues, and paediatric visual challenges.

Over many years the practice developed a strong reputation through referrals from patients and other health professionals. However, much of this expertise was not being communicated consistently online.

Paul wanted a practical way to share his knowledge with the public and attract the types of cases the practice is designed to manage—without spending valuable clinical time learning how to run digital marketing.

The Challenge

Harmony Vision Care already had a loyal patient base and strong professional reputation. Many people arrived through referrals, and the clinic frequently managed cases that other practices struggled to solve.

The problem was visibility.

Most prospective patients had little understanding of complex vision conditions or the types of services Harmony Vision Care offered. Without clear education online, many people simply chose the nearest optometry practice rather than the one best suited to their problem.

Paul also had limited time to create marketing content. His priority was clinical care, not managing social media platforms or producing regular content.

The practice needed a way to communicate its expertise clearly, educate the public about complex vision issues, and ensure that the right patients could discover the clinic.

The Solution

Optics Digital Marketing implemented a structured monthly video content program designed specifically for eye care practices.

Each month Paul recorded a short interview discussing topics that patients commonly struggle to understand. These included headaches linked to binocular vision dysfunction, myopia management, complex contact lens cases, and other specialised areas of care.

The interviews were edited and repurposed into multiple forms of content including YouTube videos, short social clips, and website resources.

This approach allowed Harmony Vision Care to build a growing library of educational material that explained complex eye care topics in a clear and approachable way. The videos helped prospective patients understand both their symptoms and the type of care available at the practice.

Importantly, the process was designed to minimise the practitioner’s workload. Paul simply needed to record the conversations each month while Optics Digital Marketing handled production, distribution, and content strategy.

The Outcomes

As the video library grew, Harmony Vision Care began to see a noticeable shift in the types of patients booking appointments.

Many new patients arrived already familiar with the practice and the services it offered because they had encountered the educational content online. This meant consultations often began with patients who already understood their symptoms and were specifically seeking help from the clinic.

The practice also began attracting more of the specialised cases it is known for managing. These included orthokeratology patients, keratoconus management, concussion-related visual problems, visual snow, and children with learning-related vision difficulties.

Inside the clinic, staff even developed a running joke about having a “Harmony Day” — a day where the schedule included one of each specialised case the practice handles.

Rather than simply increasing patient numbers, the strategy helped align the appointment book with the clinic’s areas of expertise.

Is Your Optometry Practice Missing Out?

Many independent optometry practices depend heavily on word-of-mouth referrals. While those referrals are valuable, they often limit how many people discover the practice and understand what makes it different.

Educational content allows practitioners to share their knowledge at scale and help patients recognise when they may need specialised care.

When done consistently, this approach builds trust, demonstrates expertise, and helps attract patients who are actively seeking the services your practice provides.

Optics Digital Marketing specialises in helping independent eye care practices turn their clinical knowledge into digital authority that attracts the right patients.
